Like instructed execute the command “/usr/IBM/CDC/Engine/bin/dmconfigurets” and it will launch the Infosphere Data Replication Configuration tool:
Fill in the needed fields and consider the Staging Store Disk Quota option to match the same available space in the mountpoint left for CDC.
For this exercise, we used a disabled encryption.
After that you can create the instance by clicking ok:
Click ok once again to start the CDC instance on the machine:
And now you can see that the instance is up and running.

6-???Configure CDC Instance on AIX
As advised, execute the command “/usr/IBM/CDC/Engine/bin/dmconfigurets” to configure the CDC instance:
Click OK.
Fill in the required fields and on the Encryption Profile click on Manage:
For this exercise we will create a profile with the encryption disabled:
Fill in the rest of the required fields:
Click OK and the instance will be created:
Click Yes so we can start the instance and in that way the instance configuration is concluded.
7-???Use CDC Management Console to configure the Replication
Now we need to use a Windows machine to access CDC Access Server with CDC Management Console.
Since CDC Management Console is very straight forward, we will not cover it in this document.
Now let us login with the user we created when we installed Access Server:
On the Management Console create a New Datastore for the Linux Database:
Use the ping button to make sure the connection is successful and click on connection parameters:
Insert the credentials, click ok and the datastore will be created.
Create the Datastore for the AIX database:
Click on Connection Parameters:
Click OK and the Datastore will be created.
Now create a New Subscription which will use the datastore we created to set the replication:
Click OK
Once subscription is created click YES to map the tables
By now we have everything set for the replication.
We just need to map the tables and start the replication by first doing a refresh so it can copy a “one-shot” of the tables and start a live replication.
When we map the table, their structure gets already created on the destination.
When CDC is in replication mode, all DML operations will be replicated from the Source to the Destination tables automatically.
Now enjoy CDC ??
