How Inspiration Keeps You On Track

"The world had to reorganize itself and you had to learn some stuff…and now is the time."

Someone told me this as I was making a 1° course correction in my business earlier this year.

It stuck and gently pushed me over a speedbump I'd been teetering on for a while.

All the past inspirations, downloads, epiphanies...these power surges all made sense after they had time to present themselves like pieces of a weird puzzle.

These power surges make you sit up straight, your eyes pop and your heart quicken its beat and sometimes, need a bunch of other ones in order to make sense.

How to use inspiration

Creatives grab inspiration and make it real in their work whether it's art, writing, or sculpture. Sometimes it fits a larger theme they're working on and sometimes it opens up a new one.

Point is, be like them, take it and use it. Otherwise, it'll flitter away to someone else and later, when you see their work, you'll say, "Hey, that was my idea!"

The self-aware write it out...jotting it down on their phone's note app or in their journals.

They know their path unfolds after they're brave enough to take a step with this new knowledge. Be like them...own the inspiration and be brave to incorporate it into who you are.

The spiritualists experience it as a permanent expansion of their consciousness. Often, they don't get on social media to announce such profound and sacred information.

They know that not everyone is meant to hear the info they receive and they're knowing is more than enough. Be like them and hold what you "hear" deep in your heart since sometimes, oversharing it dilutes its essence meant only for you.

Then, there's the rest of us. We feel it....then do nothing until it dissipates like a random fart in the hallway. A chance to uplevel lost and regardless of what people say, those chances and their timing in that exact formula rarely revisit us.

Why so many different reactions?

We're supposed to feel and experience a point of focus, in this case, inspiration, differently because we combine and alchemize everything in our life, including work, uniquely.

Why would inspiration be any different?

Anyone who tells you anyting different is full of sh*t.

The one thing I do know is that these flashes of genius light are meant to be used and leveraged.

The fart fading ones are some things that are interesting to me because I don't remember being taught how to use inspiration when I was young.

So, here's some insights that might be helpful for you, if you're like me:

• Inspiration is evidence of how much bigger you are than you think of yourself. Be ok with that. In fact, be grateful for the benevolence that reminds you of it.
• Instead of creating a wobble, these moments are meant to cue you into knowing that you're upleveling the deepening, widening, and elevating of knowing yourself better. They're not supposed to be something disruptive even though they signal growth.
• It only seems foreign because they're so outside of prescribed and limiting constructs like value and ranking. Like the above points, you're bigger and better than that.

Do something with it?

• Incorporate that it into your character that retones how you show up
• Enhance your perspective so when you speak, it sounds like you but a better version of you
• Follow it where it leads you...it's almost always an idea that makes your world better.

One last thing

In pilot testing some offerings, I've found that people have a misunderstanding about how the effect of inspiration works.

They think it's static, a one-time deal.

But you know how I think in terms of frequency; I find that what inspires us to be a 10 today can flatten to a 7 as you continue to grow...and from that growth perspective, you see different facets of it that pump it up to a 10 again.

What's static is the mindset that doesn't line up with what we're all actually doing everyday...growing, upleveling, transitioning...and that it's supposed to be done grace and enjoyment.

So go ahead, hold your inspiration inside your heart and know that if it scares you a bit, you're on the right path.
