How an Indian startup built 5G?

How an Indian startup built 5G?

Who would have thought a new homegrown startup in India can design a complete 5G system in a short time span?

Back in 2016, Kiran Kuchi , a professor at IIT Hyderabad, (people also call him the 5G man of India) founded WiSig Networks. Professor Kiran with his unmatchable knowledge of technology along with a few excellent engineers immediately started building NB-IoT. I was the first one to join him.

Fast forward to 2018, we decided to build 5G from scratch and we got our first project too. Two excellent managers Naresh Vattikuti with wide experience working in startups (that is what he loves) & Dr. SaiDhiraj Amuru with his immense knowledge of 3GPP and wireless R&D along with a few more engineers joined us. 4 years back in 2019 we were still 30+ people in WiSig Networks.

With expertise in wireless tech algorithms, we started filing patents. It is hard to believe that since then WiSig has filed 100+ patents in India and USA with many 5G standard essential patents. We contributed to the Largest 5G Massive MIMO: https://youtu.be/zKhBHMvYm7I

We started growing rapidly, our 5G solutions started taking shape. From 30+ in 2019, we have grown to a family of 100+ engineers today, and further growing every single day. People all around the world started talking about us:

Last year at India Mobile Congress-2022, we demonstrated 5G to our hon'ble prime minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, and other ministers.

Hardware (PHY + RF) and software stack required to support 5G stand-alone (SA), non-stand-alone (NSA), or 4G LTE operations are integrated into this single unit.

All thanks to the smartest and hardest working engineers and researchers.

By the way, WiSig Networks is hiring for multiple roles. Are you looking for exponential growth?

Stay tuned for our announcements on mmWave FR2 modems and our IAB solutions.
