How India is Rapidly Adopting Generative AI on the Path to Global AI Leadership

India's ascent as an AI powerhouse is resonating across various sectors and geographies and is enabling the nation to lead a global AI revolution by 2047. Saurabh Kumar Sahu , Managing Director and Lead – India Business, Accenture spoke about India’s rapid adoption of AI, helping it evolve into the AI cradle of the world, at Business Today’s recent India@100 event in Delhi.

He laid stress on how India is one of the fastest adopters of generative AI in the world, with its benefits felt across multiple industries. To claim a leadership position, the country not only needs to be a thought leader, steering AI development and its ethical implementation — but also go beyond its technology supplier status and increase its AI consumption across various sectors. Saurabh further pointed out that in the next 2 decades, India is well-positioned to integrate AI into numerous applications, thereby strengthening its leadership position, fostering digital literacy and workforce skilling as well as preparing for more nuanced innovations.?

To attain maturity and prepare India for the global AI revolution, the entire ecosystem of government, private enterprises, partners, associations and academia must come together.
