How Indecision is Making a Decision to Fail

There are many things that we decide to do in life and we know that each decision we make is going to have an effect. The problem that some people seem to have is that they avoid making decisions, but indecision is actually a very damaging decision, and this is the reason why you need to learn to identify this kind of behavior in order to avoid turning it into a habit.
There are many situations when we fail to make decisions and we start procrastinating. Some of those situations include the following:
- Always postponing things to get them done “tomorrow”
- Staying in your comfort zone to avoid any risks
- Keeping a low paying job out of fear of failure when seeking a better opportunity
- Failing to acknowledge that we never make any decisions
- Blaming your financial problems on the economy
- Seeking the acceptance and approval of other indecisive people
- Complaining that life is unfair and you have been unlucky
The way we decide to handle decisions is going to have a serious effect in our way of life. It’s very important to understand that decisions are the base of a better life and even if we fail after making a decision, we are still going to do much better than we would by avoiding risks.
It is only those who fail that are able to succeed and this is an intimidating fact. Being able to get rid of your fear of failure and getting yourself out there is going to make a world of a difference in your life.
Be in Constant Motion
When you move in any direction, you are more likely to make things happen than you would if you stay in one place. Imagine a pool table with every ball being shot into any direction except for one that is left untouched in the middle.
There is a good chance that the static ball is not going to interact with the rest of the balls on the table. On the other hand, it’s very likely that the balls that are set in motion are going to bump into each other.
The exact same principle applies for us in life. If we stay in one place and we never move towards any direction, the chances of finding success in any way are slim to none. Great opportunities are very unlikely to bump into us. We need to bump into them if we want to have a shot at success.
Do you feel like you are procrastinating or avoiding decisions out of fear of failure?
There is no guarantee that we will achieve success in life by moving and taking action, but those who procrastinate are never going to achieve success. In contrast, a person that decides to take action is more likely to achieve the results they want and need.
The Benefits of Making Decisions and Taking Action Include:
- Developing a thicker skin when you fail to achieve the results you want
- Gaining confidence in the process of taking action regardless of the outcome
- The realization that action is always a better choice than inaction
- The positive snowball effect on achieving good results from one decision
Final Thoughts
Now is the time to learn to identify indecision in order to avoid the repercussions of being indecisive. There is absolutely nothing in the world that can be achieved by indecision, but there is a world of possibilities for those who decide to take action.
Have you taken the time to face your fears in order to overcome obstacles and achieve success?
