Welcome to the first ever Phyxter blog post! Today’s blog post is geared towards our Wholesalers. A common problem faced by parts wholesalers in the skilled trades industry is a lack of visibility. Phyxter is dedicated to helping our users work efficiently and earn more, hence, we have created this blog series to help you improve your business’ visibility. With the information provided in this blog series, you will be able to make your business more visible in the online market and reap the rewards of efficient online marketing.

Combining social media and an active online presence can be crucial to the success of your business. People are increasingly relying on the internet to help them find the services they need. Let’s look at the statistics.

67% of the total population in Canada, about 24.8 million people, use at least one social media platform. In fact, utilizing social media marketing is on the rise. Compared to last year, we have seen a 71% increase in the net spending on digital marketing. Clearly, businesses recognize the benefit of using social media to promote their services. So, why should you be left behind? Despite the clear recognition of the impact of online marketing, there is a disconnect. Only 46% of Canadian companies use social media to promote their business and only 38% use social media to sell their products or services. That is a huge untapped market filled with your target audience, and it is prudent to conquer it!

Our plan is to publish a series of easy-to-follow, ‘how to…’ guides, over the course of the next few weeks, to help you become an online marketing guru! We start with the basics: getting you on the social media bandwagon and being searchable on Google (specifically, Google Maps). Next, we will focus on building a website and search engine optimization (how to be on the first page of a Google search). Finally, we show you how to measure your online impact using Google Analytics. The list below shows our selected topics and explains them in more detail.

LEVEL 1 (Beginner):

  • How to build your Online Presence using Google My Business – At the end of the step-by-step guide, you should have created a free Google listing for your business. Your business will now be discoverable on Google maps.
  • Why Online Reviews Matter – This article focuses on getting feedback from your customer. We tell you why online reviews are important and give you tips on how to encourage your customers to leave reviews on your social media platforms.

LEVEL 2 (Intermediate):

  • Building a Website (Skilled Trades Edition) – We review a few website building options available for you, so you can make an informed decision. Next, we teach you how to maintain a successful website.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is like organizing your Online Toolkit – Every skilled trade worker knows the importance of a well-organised toolkit. So, why should your online tools remain unkempt? With this article, we teach you the basics of search engine optimization (or how to be on the first page of Google search)

LEVEL 3 (Advanced):

  • Analyse your impact with Google Analytics series – The grand finale! This series of articles helps you with getting set up with Google Analytics and teaches you how to use it to measure your online impact.

By the end of this series, you will have learned how to dominate online marketing. A great addition to your online marketing arsenal would be our Phyxter app (available as of November 1st 2018). Learn how Phyxter can help you sell more parts easily.
