Happy customers tend to be quiet customers. This means that it's up to businesses to make sure that they stay happy. One way to do this is to create a communication map or calendar that outlines key phases in the customer journey and the corresponding communication touchpoints. This helps keep customers informed and engaged throughout the process.

What is a communication map or calendar?

A communication map or calendar is a visual representation of the different communication channels and touchpoints that your business uses to interact with customers. It can be used to track progress, identify gaps in communication, and ensure that all customers are receiving the same level of service.

  1. Identify the key phases in the customer journey. This could include things like awareness, consideration, purchase, and post-purchase.
  2. Determine the communication channels that you will use to reach customers at each phase. This could include email, social media, direct mail, phone calls, or in-person interactions.
  3. Create a calendar that shows when you will be communicating with customers at each phase. Be sure to include specific dates and times for each touchpoint.
  4. Set specific goals for each communication touchpoint. What do you want customers to do or learn as a result of this interaction?
  5. Discuss any challenges or issues that may arise with your team. This will help you to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the plan is executed successfully.

Great insights John. I love your unique perspectives.

Wow. "Happy customers tend to be quiet customers, so it is up to you that they remain happy" really makes sense. Making a formal process for when to follow up is a priority most business probably do not do. If they did, then churn would probably be lower.
