How to improve the bending effect of multilayer rigid-flex board
Usually, the multi-layer?rigid-flex board need to be used in small space, and soft areas need to be repeated bending or has a better bending radius. So many customer care soft area bending effects, do you know how to improve the design of the multilayer bending effect combined with hard and soft? ?Here are some tips for your reference.?
The first is the thickness of the flex PCB. The?thinner, the better flexibility. For example, the following six-layer combination of rigid?and flex?board has 2layers?flex?PCB, we can use a 1/3oz CU WT?for 1/2oz?or 1oz cu WT, and 1/2 mil PI instead of 1 mil, so the total thickness of 0.1 mm.
?The second is without glue materials, instead of a glue?material. The base material of the cut will also affect soft glue?materials. The?flex?part below is laminated, with no glue between copper and polyimide, but?the?coverlay?must be glued and laminated.
The third?point?is to design a gap layered. which?can reduce the total thickness of flex?parts, especially for?rigid?and flex combination plate in the design of multi-layer flex?PCB. The following sample pictures, whether flex?part is 2 layer or 4 layer, many customers will increase a layered. If you think that when adding a layered flexibility is not very good, you can add two or more points for multi-layer flexible layer.
