How Important Are Scholarships for Pakistani Students?

The only solution to promote education is by providing scholarships for Pakistani students. There has been a slight improvement in the aggregate literacy rate, but unfortunately 40% of the population still doesn't know how to read and write. In order to put an end to this matter or at least come up with a stabilized situation, a large number of underprivileged segments need assistance.

Are Ngos The Only Ray of Hope? 

Looking at the increasing unemployment rate, unfortunately, most of the vulnerable segments have to rely on a large number of non-profit organizations in Pakistan. They are not only aiding in improving the education scenario, but also helping in providing free of cost healthcare services to the less fortunate.

Is the Government Completely Neglecting This Matter?

The government is not completely neglecting this matter, it is just working on a slower pace increasing the amount of work for various charitable organizations that are running actively across Pakistan. Things are taking a positive turn, all the nation needs right now, is time.

How Many Scholarships for Pakistani Students Are Being Donated

It is difficult to keep track of an exact figure of the number of scholarships. If we take a rough estimate, we could see that almost 20% of the population is studying on the basis of free scholarships. This shows, that NGOs working actively in Pakistan are offering a great portion to the underprivileged community.

Are These Initiatives Improving the Aggregate Literacy Rate?

According to a recent survey, the literacy rate has declined from 60% to 58% as compared to the past years. This shows that besides from NGOs providing scholarships for Pakistani students, the government needs to buckle up and provide its people with better educational opportunities.
