How To Be Impeccable With Everything You Do
Being impeccable with everything you do; your words and your actions builds your confidence and gains your trust from the people in your life.
Following Through
The most successful sales reps, in my experience, are the ones who follow through. They are the ones that say they are going to do something and actually do it, no matter how small or big. The ones that are not successful were the ones who have big lofty goals, but would never follow up or follow through on any of those goals.
Hold Yourself Accountable
Hold yourself accountable in everything that you do, especially when no one else is watching you because that's where you're likely to slip up most.
You know that no one will notice you didn't make your bed, or that you didn’t rinse your mug or put it in the dishwasher so then it doesn't matter right? The problem is by not doing it, you are not showing up for yourself. That is going to lower your self-confidence.
Be On-Time
Time is a non-renewable resource. If someone steals money from you, you can make more, but if someone steals your time, you can’t make more. Leave earlier, show up, and don’t insult people by being late. Using the traffic as an excuse is just an excuse to yourself for not being impeccable.
People want to be with people they trust, even if it is just trusting you to be on time.
Do What You Say You Are Going To Do
Don't commit yourself to anything unless you are sure that you are going to be there 100%. This is way better than continually being the first one to say yes under pressure and always being the first one to back out or cancel.
People stop asking and counting on you to be there and show up.
Three Things To Help You Be Impeccable
1. Integrity
This includes inner and outer integrity.
You know how much integrity you have or want but do you know what integrity other people perceive you to have?
People want those around them to have integrity, be honest and good, with the right morals, who treats them well.
Being late, not showing up at all, shows a lack of integrity.
2. Reliability
We all know what it feels like to be let down by someone. Someone only has to let you down several times before they are the last person you will call in a moment of need. Once again, be reliable and show up,
3. Respect
Everybody wants and deserves to be respected. Treat other people the way that you would like to be treated. Having respect for all those around you, no matter what their position in life will allow you to have more respect for yourself and keep your integrity in place.
How Impeccable Are You?
A celebrity or your biggest mentor versus the average person:
If you had a meeting with a celebrity or a mentor, would you leave much earlier to make sure you're on time or would you risk being late?
If you promised to do something as simple as sending them someone's phone number, would you follow through immediately and do it the moment you got into the car or would you plan to do it later and risk forgetting about it?
If they asked you to be at some next big event of theirs would you say yes at the moment and then back out at the last moment because of something you forgot about and risk them never asking or contacting you again?
Not following through with the above displays a lack of integrity, unreliability, and disrespect.
Now think about the people that you let down? Often we lack integrity towards the people that are most important to us.
The most incredible and honest people I know who are at a high level, whether that's just business, relationships, finances, or their family, are all impeccable with their words and their actions. They hold themselves to the highest standards in all areas of their lives.
If you want to change yourself, you're going to have to think about your standards, how impeccable you are with your words, with your actions, with yourself, and with other people.
