Did you know every person is an innovative thinker? Then some of us are a little more creative than others, and the reason is not a lack of imagination as much as our habits. I will briefly summarise how you know you are an innovative thinker and some easy examples in a work setting, followed by how habits affect us.
First, what is the difference between innovation, invention and innovative?
Innovative thinking?is a state of the mind that usually defines (Aha moment) the novel conceptions or solutions we previously have not considered or engaged with yet. For example, whenever you see a problem anywhere and say, why is it not done more practically, the way you envision it or something we see helpful for ourselves.?
The term innovate in a team setting requires a safe space (environment) for concepts, ideas and views that define conceptions to breathe and generate; therefore, attention, focus, and asking questions & feedback are the oxygen for developing the ideas.?
Example at work
Example for startup
Habits at home or at work affect us both ways.
"According to psychologists, while it may take approximately 21 days of conscious and consistent effort to create a new habit, it takes far longer to break an existing habit. This old belief it took 21 days to change a habit has now been labelled a myth."
One of the fascinating things about being human is our ability to imagine other possibilities. This need to imagine other options has helped us survive and develop many of our needs. This image we make has led to Habits like how to innovate and think creatively using more and more tools. Whatever the Habits we have are a choice that allows us to endure, work on and thrive in our environment. Without our imagination, we would not be able to make these choices and would not be able to persist. This need to imagine other possibilities is a force we have, habit and drive toward seeking and creating more growth in life. We are the only ones on the planet that can look at a blank piece of paper and imagine anything, And we are the ones who can look at a problem and imagine a solution that can influence others. Our habits are what make us human, after all, and imagining something is the first step in continuing to help us grow.?
Sometimes Habits are the choices we make without thinking, good or bad. These are the excellent decisions we make or mistakes we eventually learn about. Sometimes there are even automated behaviours that are usually unconsciously made for a while. Habits become who we are and dictate how we live our lives. To change a habit, we need to be aware of it first. Creating habits is a commitment and mindset toward growth. It is a dedication to ourselves to do better and be better. The better we develop habits, the closer we are to achieving our goals and becoming the best version of ourselves.?
Most people try to change their habits without understanding how they work first. For example, they go on a diet and fail because they did not change their mindset about food and their connection. They try to work out but cannot keep it up because they do not have the proper Habits in place yet. When we want to change our Habits, we need to be clear about why we want to change them. What is the goal??
Habits produce good or bad.
Creating Habits is not about starting something new but instead changing something old. It is about breaking the old Habits that do not serve us anymore and replacing them with a new routine that will help us achieve our goals. The first step is awareness, and imagination, followed by a plan of action, consistency, and finally, making it a part of who you are. Creating good Habits is a mindset toward growth that sets goals through more innovative thinking, choices and commitment and understanding that innovation is always around us to choose.??
The best habits we value are the ones that make us happy over the long term. It is an investment and motivator, and occasionally reviewing and renewing both present and long-term habits creates better lifestyles and professional choices.
