How I’m Using Perplexity to Boost My Content Creation and Community Building

Perplexity has become my go-to AI assistant for both creating content and building my online community.

I mainly create content on TikTok, Instagram and within the online community I started 6 days ago.

In this article, I’ll discuss the 5 key reasons why I prefer Perplexity over other AI tools like ChatGBT and Microsoft’s Copilot, including how it helps me with content ideation, creation and community automation.

As soon as you land on Perplexity’s website, you’re greeted with a clean minimal interface focused solely on a chat box, with toggles for Copilot and different AI models.

To create diagrams, simply sign up for a free account, open the Whimsical editor and start adding elements from the left sidebar. Its intuitiveness makes Whimsical popular for teams and individuals to bring visual clarity to abstract ideas and projects.

This perfectly summarizes everything I wanted to know about Whimsical and its use cases, in a clean and structured manner. No other AI tool I’ve tried can match Perplexity’s combination of speed, accuracy and clarity.

2. It Provides Real-Time Relevant Information

The second major reason I prefer Perplexity is its ability to provide relevant real-time information by effectively leveraging the internet. I’ve found it to be more accurate at this than ChatGBT, Bard or Copilot.

However not many other details are available currently about the specifics of Chat UI’s capabilities as a conversational interface or how it differs from Station.

The tweet itself has garnered modest traction so far but this may pick up as more substantive details emerge.

This quick yet extensive insight clearly demonstrates Perplexity’s contextual understanding and its ability to tap into the latest online information to generate useful, structured summaries. This capability has proven invaluable for my community.

3. It Creates Helpful Presentation Outlines

Now we get to my favorite Perplexity feature — Collections. This is akin to Custom AI models on other tools, but way more flexible. Using Collections, I’ve created a Template called “Presentation Outline” that structures any content I input into easily digestible sections.

Let me demonstrate: say I come across this headline about an AI model called Genie.

I simply paste this into my Presentation Outline collection. Perplexity asks me some follow up questions, and automatically structures the output into an outline with headings like Context, Meaning, Interesting Facts and In-Depth Details.

This instantly gives me a comprehensive, structured summary of the key information on Genie. Having a template to automatically format responses like this has been a total game-changer!

I’ve also set up a voice command to instantly summon my Presentation Outline collection from anywhere my computer using Mac’s Voice Control. This hands-free access helps me capture ideas and structure information without breaking flow.

4. It’s Great for Community Content Curation

Another way I’ve been using Perplexity is by setting up a Zapier automation to automatically summarize and share relevant posts from my online community.

Here’s how it works:

1. When a community member posts an interesting article or headline
2. Zapier triggers a Perplexity Collection which summarizes key details
3. An automatic comment is posted with the summary

This lets members share ideas, while Perplexity’s AI generates an overview for everyone to learn from, creating a rich knowledge-sharing system.

I’ve also set up Twitter lists and other processes to discover interesting AI developments which I pass through Perplexity to efficiently build my knowledge base on Notion. This system has led me to create way more informative and engaging content.

Ultimately, I see Perplexity supercharging both consumption and creation of knowledge. And rather than getting distracted in rabbit holes, I’m focused on actively learning topics that will directly improve my content authority.
