How I'm Supercharging My Personal Brand Growth on X: The 4-Step Blueprint
A few days ago, I decided to get more active on X to grow my presence and speed up my brand’s growth. Fast forward 28 days, and my account shot up from 81 to 142 followers—that's a 75% increase! Plus, my impressions almost tripled. Honestly, I’m not too sure about the exact impressions numbers since I haven’t activated Twitter Blue or monitored it closely, but still, the progress is there, and I’m super proud.
Next up? I’m doubling down on the energy and time I’m spending on the platform—more posts, more engagement, and more offers. Let’s go!
1. Enhancing My Mentorship Services
First level up area, As you know, I’ve been offering mentorship services to those interested in learning full-stack web development. This includes sharing resources, giving advice, offering resume and cover letter tips, and guiding them right up to job offers. Right now, I’m working with my first "official" student, and it’s been exciting! This week marks our fourth and final session, with the option to extend it if things go well.
The original deal was a one-month “probation” where the student could decide if my service was a good fit. If they find value, we’ll extend for two more months. If not, I’ve asked them to provide honest feedback so I can improve for the next person.
To reach more people, I’m focused on making my service as authentic as possible. One way is by getting reviews from previous students and posting them publicly on Twitter as a pinned thread. This gives anyone searching me a reason to trust that what I’m offering is the real deal. I’ve already asked for one review and added it to my profile, and I’m planning to gather three more to hit that sweet number of four solid reviews.

2. Expanding Job Offer Sharing
The second area I’m leveling up is the number of job offers I share. So far, I’ve been posting job offers on my account, not daily but pretty consistently. Now, I’m planning to take it a step further by posting specific job offers to specific Twitter communities. For example, backend roles will go to backend communities, frontend roles to frontend communities, and general dev jobs to web dev communities.
I’ve already tweeted in all these communities, letting them know I’ll be posting jobs daily for the next 100 days. This strategy will give my account more engagement and help grow my brand even faster. I’ll be sourcing these job offers from platforms like weworkremotely.com , crypto-careers.com , remoteok.com , remotive.com , reed.co.uk , and any other site I find useful.
3. Boosting Engagement Percentage
The third area I’m working on is increasing my engagement percentage, with the goal of doubling it. At first, I was setting aside an hour and a half daily just for commenting on posts, especially on accounts with bigger followings than mine. I did this consistently for about 1-2 weeks, but then something strange happened—I got hit with a ''temporary label'' on my account, possibly flagged for spamming or breaking some X rules. I didn’t even notice at first, but after a week, my engagement plummeted.
That threw me off a bit. I wasn’t as motivated anymore, and the fear of not getting engagement stuck in my head. After analyzing what went wrong, I realized I had been commenting way too much on the same posts—sometimes 7 to 10 times! So, I switched gears. Now, I limit my comments to at most twice on the same post, spreading them across different accounts and posts. It’s a better strategy, but yeah, I’ve got to get rid of those excuses and push through.
4. Diversifying Daily Content
The fourth and final area I’m improving is the variety of posts I put out each day. Right now, I only do two types of posts: one about resources for learning full-stack development and the other about jobs, and it’s not consistent. Going forward, I’ll be diversifying things by posting 1 motivational/life-related post, 1 resource for full-stack devs, 1 resume tip, 1 meme, 1 job application hack, my daily coding progress, 2 interactive posts (something that asks a question or sparks engagement), and 1 post from my newsletter.
That’s 9 different posts each day. To make this dynamic but also as painless as possible, I’m going to schedule all of some tweets once a week and others once a month, except for my daily progress and memes posts, with different posts at different times of the day. This way, I’ll have more time for other tasks throughout the day and only need to check Twitter two or three times daily. Perfect balance!
By doubling down on the time I spend engaging, posting tailored job offers in the right communities, diversifying my daily content, and collecting authentic reviews, I’m not just staying active—I’m building momentum. This approach will bring in more followers, more meaningful interactions, and more opportunities to help others learn and grow ~ potentially growing my personal brand, boosting my X account , and giving my mentorship service space to expand. It’s all about showing up, staying consistent, and making sure every move counts. Let's make it happen!
