The Six-Week Rule
From the inception of a concept to the definition of its value proposition and messaging to a test market, the entire process should not take more than six weeks.
Understanding Value Proposition
A value proposition is essentially the pitch of the concept; however, if it lacks clear and tangible articulation, the chances of attracting the intended audience diminish significantly. Moreover, without a clear understanding of the target audience—if you are casting a wide net in hopes of discovering market fit—articulating a concise and tangible deliverable is crucial.

The 6x6 Rule
It’s unlikely that the value proposition statement will be correct on the first attempt or resonate with the intended audience. The best approach is to create several variations and test them. We refer to this as the 6x6 Rule, where you develop six variations of the statement and message them across six different target groups with similar demographics.
The Golden Egg Rule
We can confidently say that an idea resonates and generates market demand based on how well the 6x6 Rule performs—assuming at least one proposition generates a positive response. It is rare for none of the variations to work, and it’s often unnecessary to run all six variations, as results typically begin to emerge within the first two or three iterations. However, if you want to be extra certain, you might choose to test all six methods.
When you achieve a sufficient number of qualified leads, and if the cost of generating those leads is low while the value of the sale is high, you can confidently say that the Golden Egg Rule has been satisfied.
