How I write my blogs part two
Last week I wrote about how I wrote my blogs. Got a great response, and also some questions about my process.
Last week was more about what I write. Here is some insight into how I write.
- I keep an Evernote file of blog ideas that has over 50 things I could write about. Whenever I hear something or read something or think something that might make a good blog, that’s where it goes.
- I have a two-blog rule. Whenever I sit down to write a blog, I have to write a second one. It’s a very useful productivity hack.
- I give myself 20 minutes to write a blog. This is not hard and fast, but I’m not trying to take too long, and I don’t overthink it.
- I have a fabulous editor (my wife Trish) who fixes grammar, tone, and understandability (not sure if that word will get through or not … we’ll see). And once or twice a year after her feedback I’ll axe a blog entirely.
Happy blogging.
