Writing has always been a passion of mine, and now I am taking it to the next level. Inspired by a sentence from an article by Eve Arnold, I’ve chosen the title “I Write Like I Talk” because it truly reflects my writing style.
If you ask me what I love most, I would say that I love to write. A few weeks ago, I promised myself and my readers that I would write two articles a day. I failed to keep that promise, but it was intentional. Why? I was too conscious — conscious of failing and of overwhelming my audience, both stemming from a fear of being judged. This fear has been with me since I was born into a family that got involved in everything.
They grew old, I am growing old, but the fear of judgment still remains young. Despite this, I write every time I get a chance. Most of my writing ends up in MS Word or Notepad; some pieces I preserve, while others are discarded unconsciously. If I had been writing on Medium since 2010 as consistently as I write offline, I would have written thousands of articles by now.
Tips for Writing More Articles
Realize That You Can Make a Living
Everything starts with a realization. Writing in a journal will never make you money, but writing online can. The more sources of income you have, the better your financial life will be. Money can solve many problems, and while we’ve been taught that money is evil, it’s actually our thoughts and actions with money that can be problematic. So, let writing be your business.

There Are No Rules
Rules are often touted as the key to success, but they aren’t always necessary. The most successful people are often mavericks who break the rules. Focus on doing things well, and if you follow some ethics, that’s even better.
Don’t Be Conscious
Don’t be overly conscious about your writing. Each article you publish will teach you something new. Don’t worry about length, mistakes, or vocabulary — just write and publish. Carry a notepad with you, or jot down ideas on your phone as soon as they come to you.
Starting today, I will write every day on Medium. Let’s all write and let those words that have been imprisoned in our minds for years be laughed at or praised on the internet.
