How I write emails
I realized my emails tend to fall into a predictable template. It works, so I'm sharing it here:
Dear ___,
Enthusiastic intro sentence!
A sentence or two of context. I might be expressing my appreciation to you for reading this, or reminding you of who the hell I am.
One-line request for what I am asking of you. (often in italics - thanks, Pulse Method)
More sentences, with background, if needed. Hopefully if it's more than a paragraph I'm moving this down below my signature, or just calling you.
Enthusiastic sign off!
take care / your friend / sending smiles,
~ slightly quirky one-line signature ~

1 年Simple is better. I like the enthusiastic bit! And I prefer to keep mine to a predictable format, as well.
Published writer -- short poetry and compressed prose
1 年This template is a sort-of meta-email and an intriguing piece of writing in its own right! ??

1 年Thanks. A real email would be more illustrative
