How I Went from Broke, Living Paycheck to Paycheck and In Debt, to Financially Free

Curtis Banks has a story to tell. A great American success story.?

His mother was one of 17 children who lived in a three-bedroom house with no running water or electricity in Alabama. His grandparents were sharecroppers and had third-grade education.

Curtis’s mother and father had 10th grade educations and seven children of their own (Curtis is the oldest and was born in his grandparents’ home).

They moved the family to Cleveland, Ohio, when Curtis was eight. His parents instilled into their children the need to get educated, get jobs, and have a better life than their parents.

After high school, Curtis enlisted in the Air Force. He served his country for four years. He joined Boeing after the Air Force and worked in information technology. All the while, he was getting the education his parents wanted for their children.

When he was six years into his 37-year Boeing career, Curtis had fulfilled his parents’ dream. He was getting an excellent education, had a good job, and was making more money than his parents ever did.?

But all was not well.

In fact, he was living paycheck to paycheck, needed a part-time job, and argued with his wife about their growing debt. One evening, looking at a stack of unpaid bills, he got off the phone with the third bill collector that had called that day.?

Curtis realized he had to do better.

Over the next five years, Curtis educated himself on how to handle money. He read books and spoke to knowledgeable people. He invested in the real estate and stock markets.?

He dug himself out of that financial hole.

Now, he passes on what he has learned.?

The Rules for Financial Success Are Scattered All Over. But There Was No One Place to Find Them All-Until Now

Curtis Banks found success-but it took a while. A long while. Now, he passes on the practical knowledge he has gained from his own lived experiences to others.?

Curtis is a Financial Educator and Wealth Mentor. He founded Money Smart Education in 2017. He helps his clients get out of debt, build generational wealth and achieve financial freedom.?
