How I used Einstein’s thinking to make a breakthrough in my life (and you can, too)
It’s not about physics, it's breakthrough thinking
Einstein said, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”
Yet, that’s exactly what we do most of the time.
You have a problem, or you need to change something in our life, yet you try to figure it out with the same mindset, beliefs and thinking that got you into the situation you now want to change.
Some old stuff in. Same old stuff out.
Often, that old stuff is false beliefs about you, life or the world.
Or it’s old beliefs that were true years ago, but things have changed and you have changed.
Or maybe you just thought it was a good idea and it wasn’t.
Whatever it is, to come up with the perfect answer, you must change your thinking, mindset and your perspective.
This is an absolute must. No two ways about it.
That’s what Einstein did.
The Formula for Your Ideal New Way Forward
I have wondered how a brilliant physicist who deals with absolutes can break through those to find, discover and prove a breakthrough radical theory.
I wondered if their basic approach could apply to any problem, including yours and mine.
It absolutely and empirically can.
As further proof, the following quote helped Einstein and me make our breakthroughs…big time.
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
This came from Nobel Prize-winning physicist Max Planck, who is a founder of modern physics, who discovered quantum theory (which laid the groundwork for Einstein) and he helped Einstein develop his theory of relativity.
So, if these brilliant minds make their breakthroughs by changing the way they looked at things and shedding old, outdated and failed thinking, it’s obvious this is a basic truth that we all can use.?
?Empirically, I know that without applying their theorems, I would have failed.
Their thinking allowed me to find my own E=MC2.
New thinking for a new life
Decades ago, I made a major transition in life from television news to being a creator, producer and director of videos and live shows for corporations.
I made my decision based on what I could do, not what I should do.
Yes, I could do it and I did. I succeeded. I am grateful for it.
But I never should have done it.
It wasn’t right for my spirit and what I value in life.
I was forced to make too many sacrifices for my family.
I did it with old (and limited) thinking.
Avoiding the same mistake
Jump ahead many years when it was time to transform my life again.

I was entering my olderhood and wondering what was next for me.
Somehow, I realized I couldn’t come up with the right answers with the same thinking that got me into the life that I needed to change.
I was determined to find a new way forward that was right for me in every way.
Income, fulfillment, health, purpose and lifestyle, the whole shebang.
I changed the way I looked at myself, life and the world.
I examined my beliefs and discovered some that were untrue or outdated.
I changed those beliefs to my current truth so they’d work for me, not against me.
I identified what I valued in life and pursued my new way forward with those as absolute needs.
I then set the basic standards for my life, knowing that I hadn’t been living up to my true standards.
And we always live up to our standards.
All of this led me to a solution I am now living and loving. So yeah…it works.
One more thing…
Yes, this took a lot of time and a lot of thinking, self-examination and research.
As it turns out, I was pursuing my transformation the same way Einstein pursued his breakthroughs.
“If I had an hour to solve a problem, I'd spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and five minutes thinking about solutions.”
Exactly!
Think about it.
Almost always we start with trying to think about the solution.
Yet, how are you going to come up with the right solution without thoroughly thinking about the problem?
Most of my time went into thinking about who I was, what I needed and wanted, and researching the new realities of aging, what others were doing, how to change my life, etc., etc.
My 55 minutes.
Then, when it came time to find my solution, the answer was right there for me.
Not 5 minutes. More like a split second.
Be Albert
The approach and mindset of these two brilliant physicists worked for me brilliantly.
I changed the way I looked and things and that gave me the new mind I needed to solve it.
If I, a person who almost flunked algebra in high school and college, can do it, then anyone can.
You + Desire + Need x Want - Old thinking + New thinking x Time/effort/attention ÷ Foundational thinking = Your New Way Forward
That’s solving a problem with a new mind.
