How I tried to explain Project Management to my son
My son asked what I do for work. I took a deep breath and said "I'll get back to you." I drafted up this response to try and break it down for him. I don't think it hit the mark but thought I'd share what I wrote.
"Project management is a way of organising and completing a task. It helps people work together to make sure everything is done on time and in the right way. Say, if you wanted to have a tea party, project management would help you plan out all the bits you need to take, like inviting friends, setting the table, and making tea. It would also help you keep track of what has happened and what needs to be done.
If things start to go the wrong way, you can change the way you're working along the way."
