How I Stopped Worrying About the Safety of People I Care About
The state of the world has me worrying about the safety of my loved ones. I worry in silence, careful not to express my concerns aloud.?
Every week, when I drive to the grocery store, I see angry stressed out people taking chances on the road. Cutting people off, driving too fast. Then I worry about the possibility that one of these enraged individuals will cause an accident with somebody I know.
Now, more than ever, we fear life itself. What can happen. And all the horrific things we hear about in the news each day.
Parents send their young children off to school, reluctantly. In their heart is an aching feeling that so many things can happen. And do happen.
Any one of us, at any time, can be subjected to society's cruelty.
Haunted in the quiet of night, we wonder when the insanity of this world will make its way into our lives. But we bite our lip, and pray that everything will be alright.
We also plead with our loved ones to be careful.
We warn our spouse, and our kids, of the dangers which lurk around every corner.
The stress of having people I care about living in a world like this almost broke me to the point I was not able to function.
I prayed for a solution. And I got one.

Faith.
I am not talking here about faith that things will be just fine, although yes, I do now exercise that. But I am talking mainly about faith in those close to us. Faith in their intelligence. Their wits. Their sense of good judgement.
For it is true. Each person is 100% in charge of their lives. ?
At the end of the day, we are left with faith, that others will do the right things for self preservation.?
This has resulted in a change in the way I show people that I care. Instead of displaying a lack of faith in their capabilities and expressing my fears for their safety- instead, I do the opposite and tell them "I have faith in you. I know you'll be alright."
Trust the instincts of others. Trust that God will protect them.
Because you're not in control of people and events.?
Although you can control how you feel and react in this unstable environment.
Excessive worry will do harm to your health, wreck your ability to cope and prevent you from living a full, productive life. And when that happens, it will be others concerned about you.
One way to change the narrative inside our brain is to listen to music. I help put my mind in a better place by tuning into soft jazz. It helps to calm my restless brain. I even created a 24 / 7 free online radio station, at first for my own benefit, but now to help others as well. If you live in the US or Canada, feel free to give it a try. 2 年My husband and I are experiencing some highly stressful times and this is beautifully timed, thank you! I'll change my computer password to include the word "faith" to be a reminder multiple times a day.
