How I spent 15 months in Terminal Island.
In May of 2022, I self-surrendered to a federal prison with the name of Terminal Island. Nice name, don’t you think. It does have a certain cache if you are going to do time. Anyway, I was only there for 15 months, and since I am a writer, I bought legal tablets from the commissary and wrote by hand 15 novels. I had a lot of time on my hands (duh) and thought why not.
As soon as I finished a novel, I would I mailed it home to my woman. Notice I said my woman—not my employee. Needless to say, those fifteen novels are sitting in a drawer in my desk. Well actually I did release two of them, so that only leaves 13 more to go. I wrote a brand-new crime series that takes place in St. Petersburg, in the Russian Federation. I tentatively call the Demitri Petrov Crime Sagas. I wrote six novels for that series.
The reason I have waited for one year is that I had 25 novels already published that needed serious rewrites, editing, and formatting, along with new cover designs. That took ten hours a day seven days a week for one year to complete.
Now I am taking a break and concentrating on networking, studying the various advertising platforms and perhaps beginning the process of translating my books into other languages. I included a prototype book cover for this new series.
