As someone who’s developed many a product demo, I’ve seen first-hand how powerful these personalised experiences can be in the personal and home care industry. It’s not just about activating a product—it’s about creating a bond.?
I’ve always believed that the best demos aren’t just informative—they’re transformative. One of my favourite example is an on-skin hydration test I developed for a skincare brand. The brand had consumers test the moisture level of their skin before using the product, and then again after. The difference was instant and visible, and watching their reactions was - priceless. They went from curious to convinced in a matter of seconds, seeing with their own eyes how the product worked on their skin.?
What is interesting about these experiences is how relatable they make the product. By creating a simple, effective story around that need and showing the solution in action, the brand does not just sell a product; It shows consumers that the brand understands them and their struggles. That's a level of empathy that builds trust, and trust leads to loyalty.?
In my work, I’ve also found that storytelling isn’t limited to what we say. It’s in the visuals we create, the interactive tools we develop, or the way the brand uses the tool to engage with the consumers.?Whether it’s through a captivating video or a hands-on activity, the goal is always the same: to create an emotional impact that resonates.?
What I love most, though, is the chance to develop something that inspires and educates. Consumers are always eager to know more, and explaining the science behind an ingredient or the benefits of a particular product helps build credibility. When they walk away feeling informed and inspired, you’ve given them more than just a good demo—you’ve built a relationship.
