Exam Description:

  • Mitigate threats using Microsoft 365 Defender (25–30%)
  • Mitigate threats using Microsoft Defender for Cloud (25–30%)
  • Mitigate threats using Microsoft Sentinel (40–45%)


My Background

  • I have worked with Sentinel for a year prior to taking the exam which makes working with KQL and understanding where to go much easier.
  • KQL is a must-to-know on the exam.
  • Do the labs. Take your time!


Last but not least, don’t get a certification for the sake of having a cert — know your career goals and then determine does this information apply to you.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I just cleared the SC-200 exam, and it’s definitely gotten tougher lately. What really helped me was the Skillcertpro mock exams https://skillcertpro.com/product/microsoft-sc-200-exam-questions/. The real exam questions were very similar to those in the practice tests, with about 70-80% of the questions in the actual exam covered word-for-word. The SC-200 master sheet from Skillcertpro, which highlights all the important topics, was a lifesaver in the final days of preparation. Best of luck to everyone else preparing!
