How I overcome my to do list

How I overcome my to do list

Have you ever felt like you were drowning in a sea of so many priorities that you didn’t know which one to stab at first?

Being a solopreneur and wearing all of the hats at first can feel daunting but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Let me share with you how I prioritize the actions I take every day so that you can WIN in your business too.

We actually teach our clients on a Monday morning planning webinar how to plan out and block out time every week to do what I call “the big rocks” the big tasks that need to get done every week to bring you closer to your financial goals.

Planning is a great habit because it leads to action and the action is what helps you reach your goals.

What’s that saying “fail to plan and you plan to fail”.

Damn those clichés they’re true.

I like to sit down on Sunday and go through my week and plan out five big goals for the upcoming seven days.

I look at who on my team I can outsource it to and I also look at the previous weeks to do a list and see where were at in our current projects.

I write them all down on a piece of paper and then I put time in my calendar when I’m going to work on these things or check up on these projects.

By simply taking the time to do this your anxiety level will decrease immediately because you are paying attention and focusing and taking action on your projects instead of ignoring them pushing them aside.

Next every morning I write down a list of the things that I want to get done and I prioritize them by the one that I want to do the least - the scariest one or the one task that’s going to take up the most time or the one I least want to do ... I start with that one.

Why?

Because we can make up stories in our head about how difficult it’s going to be instead of just getting to work.

How many times have you been afraid to finally post that video or make that sales call and by the time you actually get it done you wonder what you were so freaked out about right?

We make things up in her head about how scary or hard or difficult things are going to be so don’t give your to do list or your priorities the chance to get drowned in stinking thinking.

Tackle your big rocks first every day.

More actionable tips:

If you’re working on your business part time will you still have a job commit to doing one thing every day for your business... just one.

At the end of the month you will have completed 30 tasks that is a huge amount of momentum!

That’s how you build confidence from doing not planning or thinking but actually doing.

Confidence is like a muscle the more you use it the more you get an action the more it builds the more you have to tackle bigger projects.

That’s the business side of things and I also sit down on Sunday’s with my personal to do’s, self care, health n fitness, family, and trips.

I regularly connect with my husband and plan out fun weekend getaways and bigger trips like spending the summer in mount Shasta in our new home exploring nature swimming in lakes and waterfalls everyday.

The business is a vehicle to help you live your dreams so don’t forget to plan your dreams ( a lot of mine involve loooong trips ).

Mapping and planning out your trips in advance gives you something to work for and look forward to.

I also use my Notes app on my iPhone daily I write down with little circles all of my priorities ( because I love to check them off ) for the day and you regularly checking on them and then I also make the same list on a piece of paper that sits next to me on my desk or wherever I’m working from.

What you focus on expands. If you are focusing on being productive and checking off things that are completed on your to do list he become a very productive business owner Who gets shit done!
