How I made my way into the Guinness World Record, using the Power of Sub-Conscious Mind.

How I made my way into the Guinness World Record, using the Power of Sub-Conscious Mind.

How would you define a mother?

Whenever I ask this question in my workshops, I get the following answers -

?“Mother is Universe”

“Mother is unconditional love”

Let’s understand the definition of mother at a Conscious Level and Sub-Conscious Level.

If we have to look at the definition of mother at a conscious level, we can say - ‘Mother is a female parent’.

The answers which we all generally give like, Mother is Universe or “Mother is unconditional love” are the feelings we have for a mother, which is stored in our Sub-Conscious mind, which is also our feelings mind.

Before you read further, I want you to understand that your Sub-Conscious mind is 95% and the Conscious Mind is only 5%.

I am Ravi Nair – The Founder and CEO of Rich Minds and through this newsletter, I intend to make your aware of the tremendous power of the sub-conscious mind, which drives all our actions and behavior on a daily basis.

Now to understand the power of the Sub-Conscious mind let’s look at a hypothetical example.?

Let’s suppose, you are heading for a very critical and important meeting, which is a do-or-die meeting for you. Due to unprecedented traffic you are late and you are left with just 10 minutes to reach the meeting.

You are waiting for the pedestrian light to turn green, so that you can cross the road and enter the building, where the meeting is scheduled to happen.

The pedestrian signal turns green, and you are about to cross, when an old women standing next to you taps on your hand and says, “Son, can you help me cross the road, please?”.

Now your conscious mind reminds you about the meeting, but since the lady addressed you as son, it activated your sub-conscious mind, where all the feelings for mother are stored.

And as I mentioned above, your Sub-Conscious mind is 95% powerful, so it supersedes the thoughts coming from the conscious mind and directs you to help the old lady to cross the road.

So the take away from this example is – Your sub-conscious mind is your feeling mind and your conscious mind is your thinking mind.?Whenever there is a conflict in between your thoughts and feelings (which means your conscious mind and your sub-conscious mind),?your sub-conscious mind will always dominate and win.

Let’s quickly look at another real life example to ensure that there is no ambiguity in understanding the power of the sub-conscious mind.

Many find it a challenge to get up in the morning and go for a walk, so let’s understand what happens with them at a mind level.

Every night they consciously think and plan to go for a walk. Now that means at a conscious level they are clear that they have to go for a walk next morning.

But, guess what happens when they get up in the morning?

Though at a conscious level they have the THOUGHT of going for a walk, they don’t FEEL like going for a walk. And as mentioned before, the Sub-Conscious mind (or the feeling mind) supersedes the Conscious mind and dictates the action and as result you snooze the alarm clock and go back to sleep.

Well, in all probabilities by now I am sure you would have realized the power of the Sub-Conscious mind and how it drives every action of our life. So I presume you would want to know how to access the power of the Sub-Conscious mind, right?

So let’s dive right in. One of the techniques is Visualization and it is important that when you visualize, you use a combination of visuals, sounds and feelings.

Let's look at another hypothetical example to understand the Visualization technique.

Suppose you are a non-runner, but looking at all the other runners around, you get motivated and inspired and one day you make a conscious decision to run a marathon.

But remember for you to get into action that information/thought has to be programmed into your Sub-Conscious mind.

But since it is only a decision you have made at a Conscious level, your Sub-Conscious mind will make you procrastinate actions which you need to take, in order to prepare for the Marathon.

This is where the Visualization Technique can help you program your Sub-Conscious mind.

So what you have to do is, close your eyes and visualize yourself preparing for the race.

  • See and feel yourself sweating it out and doing everything which you would do to prepare for the run.
  • See yourself getting up early morning wearing your shoes etc., doing your stretches and strengthening exercises
  • Then visualize the race day – the beginning of the race, see yourself standing with all the other participants
  • Visualize the race starting and see yourself progressing through the race
  • See and hear people cheering up and clapping for you
  • Imagine and feel the general pains and aches which you might have to go through as you progress through the race
  • Finally see yourself crossing the finishing line and visualize your near and dear ones congratulating you and hugging you as you cross the finish line.

You can make the Visualization as creative, detailed and realistic as you wish and though it is advised to do for 21 days, I strongly recommend that you do it till the time, whatever you visualize gets manifested in reality.

Trust me it works. I successfully completed an Ultra Hill Half-Marathon using this technique which help me get into the Guinness World Records.

By the way, in my book “Weekend Miracle”, which is an Amazon Best Seller, I have outlined how to access the power of the Sub-Conscious Mind.?Do read it.
