How I lost my biggest writing gig

How I lost my biggest writing gig

A client of mine who was a billionaire owned many subsidiaries.

His conglomerate comprises real estate, agro-products processing, importation and exportation of goods, etc.

I handled every of his writing projects – product description, sales copy, website content, blog posts, memoirs, etc.

I charged him $200 per 1000 words; he consistently gave tips. He was godly and caring in every ramification.?

The deadline of his plethora of writing projects was energy-sapping, so I let go of other clients.

Subsequently, he wanted to launch a manufacturing company, so he told me to write the product description for his products – 10 products in all.

The next day, he spoke soberly over the phone when he informed me that the US government had shut down his poultry farm in Pennsylvania.

He further explained how an outbreak of Infectious Bronchitis (IB) caused the death of 75,000,000 layers.

A week later, his executive assistant told me that the US government had shut down his dairy farm and the milk processing plant in Ohio.

There was an outbreak of Botulism; consequently, 1,000,000 Holstein Friesian cows and bulls died.

Like a drama, in less than 2 months, his business empire gradually collapsed into rubbles. Therefore, he filed for bankruptcy.

Summer holiday was fast approaching, and his children planned to return home. At this time, three of his children were studying at Harvard University, another three at Oxford University, and one was a freshman at Stanford University.

The family doctors advised against allowing his children to spend the holiday at their country home, stating the need to prevent psychological trauma.

He suggested they travel to a distant country for emotional healing, not necessarily for vacation.

Finally, they travelled and spent 4 weeks in Malaysia. On the 8th of March, 2014, they boarded Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Less than 50 minutes into the flight, the plane crashed. My client's children died, and there was no survivor – all crew and passengers died – 239 people.

When my client heard about this heart-wrenching news, he was shattered beyond description.

His wife was gradually losing her mind. Finally, in absolute frustration and despair, she grabbed her husband’s shirt. She shouted, “If God is alive, why would He allow this flood of calamity? Won’t you curse God and die?”

But her husband replied, “Even though God slays me, yet I will trust Him.”

Together, they experienced 2 years of woes, gloom, and trials. Finally, God showed up.

Amazingly, God restored my client, Job, and in less than one year, he became a trillionaire in dollars.

Do you think that the trial of Job was a fiction??

Then, I may assume that the challenges you are encountering are fictitious.

Job was a man, who experienced losses and pains, but God intervened and restored him.

Similarly, God will intervene and give you a glorious comeback.

Anyway, Job’s chief of staff sent me an email last week. So, I am happy to announce that I am starting a new role as the head of creativity and innovation at Job & Spencer Holding.

But I have learnt not to put all my eggs in one basket.?

So, I am still open to editing, proofreading, and writing books, articles, and assorted content.
