How I Learned to Measure My Success

Ever wondered how to measure your success? I used to think someone would show up one day and say, “Hey, look at you, crushing it!” Spoiler alert: that doesn’t happen.

When I left my job as a content writer and dove headfirst into freelancing, I had one burning question: How do I know if I’m succeeding? Turns out, the answer lies within YOU. Yep, before anyone else tells you you’re doing great, you’ve got to figure it out yourself. Sure, financial growth is a big indicator, but let’s talk about the process.

Here’s what helped me (and still does!):

1. Consistency is Queen ??

Consistency doesn’t mean working when you’re sick or burnt out. It means showing up even when you don’t feel like it. Like that day when your couch is calling louder than your deadlines—push through. Show up. Do the work. Your future self will thank you.

2. Kindness Goes a Long Way ??

It’s easy to be kind when life’s going great. But being kind when life’s throwing lemons at you? That’s a superpower. Help others, even when you’re struggling. It feels good, and trust me, the universe notices.

3. Get the Job Done ??

Work is work, and it deserves respect. Hate it? Doesn’t matter. It’s your bread and butter (and maybe your avocado toast ??). Prioritize it, power through it, and give it your best.

4. Stop Complaining, Start Doing ??

Can’t implement your ideas? Then don’t complain. Action beats whining every single time. Take the first step, do what needs to be done, and watch how things start falling into place.

5. Network Like a Pro ??

Networking isn’t just about finding work—it’s about building your brand and learning from others. Talk to people, connect with like-minded folks, and soak up all the wisdom. Oh, and don’t forget to share your nuggets of gold!

These 5 habits have been my game-changers. There was a time I thought success was something I couldn’t unlock—but here I am, living proof that the right mindset and effort make all the difference.
