How I Get Engagement On Social Media

Here is the exact formula I use and that I share with my client family members to get engagement on social media.

  1. Use a hook. The hook is critical to people getting interrupted and stopped so they notice your content.

Before you post think about the topic you are going to post about. Is it relevant and important to your target audience? If your prospects want more leads and you are talking about closing sales, you are off-topic, as an example. You have to know the desires of your target audience.

2. Write at the 5th-grade level.

Use simple language and small words and short sentences. No jargon or technical words.

3. Create value.

The hook must state the very clear benefit and the value to the reader or viewer or listener.

They must be able to instantly resonate with the content and choose to stop scrolling because of the value of your post.

4. One theme.

Only talk about one idea per post. Keep it simple.

5. Use statistics or numbers.

Statistics, data, or numbers will have your hook get noticed and will grab the attention of your target audience.

6. Show proof.

We live in a skeptical society where people online make all sorts of claims. If you state something, show proof of it. If you say you closed $19,000 of sales from a campaign, show the numbers.

7. Talk to ONE person.

Don't say things like, "all of you", "people", or "folks". Speak to ONE person using words like “you” and “your”.

Instead of, "Some business owners feel like generation is hard" say, "Are you a business owner feeling like getting leads is a struggle?".

8. Mention your audience.

In your hook, name your exact audience.

9. Use the language of command and persuasion.

Some of these words will be great in your hooks and will add power to your message.

11. Use graphics and visuals that catch the attention of your audience and support your message.

Videos are number one and then images if you want to boost your engagement and reach.

This is how you make use of hooks and get your content noticed. For a lot of examples, you can read my best-selling book.
