How I found quietness through the business storms ???


I’ve got a personal story for you today.

A story about a time when I was running a thriving business, juggling a massive team, a substantial client base, and …four children at home! ??

It was a whirlwind, to say the least.

My levels of stress were high and anxiety was crippled in when I least expected it. ??

On those days where stress got the best of me, I couldn’t think straight, my focus was all over the place and I felt I couldn’t perform at my best. ??

In those moments, I felt like a leader who couldn’t lead herself - let alone others!

But the business kept growing and I knew I needed to manage that stress to continue to perform at my peak and be the best version of myself, both in life and in business. ??

So I started to deep dive into what I could do.

“What did other high performers do to keep their stress at bay? What kind of tools did the best leaders out there leverage? How could I learn to be more present for my team and family?” ??

These were just a few of the questions that swirled around in my head… Until I read about a Mindfulness Course that was about to start. ??♀?

I’d heard about Mindfulness before, but it was one of those things I kept putting off.

You know how it goes – life gets busy, and you think you just don’t have the time for a course on stress management, because it might eventually make you time-poorer and more stressed! ??

However, the pressure of my own well-being pushed me to reconsider. So, I decided to take the plunge.

It was a 12-week commitment, two hours in the evening, but I was determined to make it work.

And what came out of those 12 weeks was nothing short of transformative!

I was introduced to mindfulness, and I learned how to meditate, which gave me greater (and much needed) headspace and inner peace. ??

It was incredible.

The whole course showed me we are not just a mind in a body - and the edge I thought I had lost was suddenly back!

The clutter in my mind was clearing and the stillness I was experiencing enabled me to be present, perform better, with more focus.

I felt resilient on a whole new level.

The experience was not just transformative; it was liberating! And Mindfulness has now become a key part of my routine, as well as something I recommend to all the founders I work with! ??

And that’s why I’m sharing this with you - because I understand the frustration, anxiety and stress that often come with being a founder, a leader, an MD, a CEO. The relentless pace, the constant decision-making, and the never-ending challenges can wear you down and make you feel like you can’t afford to stop or slow down.

But in my journey, I discovered that taking a step back and finding inner calm isn't just a luxury; it's a necessity!

So, if you're feeling stress impacting your life and business results, I encourage you to explore mindfulness.

It may take some time to make that commitment or a few sessions to actually see the benefits, but I promise you, your business results - as well as your own performance levels - will thank you!

Mindfulness should actually be called Mind-less-ness coz you r taking mind out of it. Its making peace with(in) yourself, which is the stillness from which everything originates.
