With the understanding that "knowledge is power," I was determined in my decision to study economics to enhance my negotiation skills. At 19, I realized that mastering economic language would not only strengthen my position in important discussions but also open doors to influence environments that were previously inaccessible.
An Oprah recommendation always resonated with me: "Never feel like you don't belong somewhere. If you're there, it's because it's yours. Walk into a boardroom and sit at the table as if that place is yours." This message was crucial in my journey.
I remember that when I was 19, I read an article with very complex vocabulary, and although I didn't agree with much of it, I didn't fully understand it. I needed to learn those concepts to be able to sit at the table, to participate in discussions and debates. That's what inspired me to study economics.

It was through education that I learned to master the language, negotiate, and had the opportunity to finally occupy a decisive place at a boardroom table. Today, this is my platform to create new opportunities for others.
Currently, leading the Social Impact area at iFood, we have been able to create education initiatives for our partners, with the aim of creating more inclusive perspectives and reducing social inequality. It's no wonder we have a purpose to "feed the future of the world with education."

6 个月Interesting that you saw an opportunity in Economics to achieve your goals. Last week I was watching an interview of a South African woman and she did the same. She has studied Economy to be able to understand how this world works. Today she is able to help people through her analysis in the job and is impacting the lives of many people. Let’s teach economics to ours. By the way, I have been studying investiments. This is also another subject which needs to be taught. ??
