No…that’s not the stock market (thankfully!).
That’s my weight loss journey since September - down 27 lbs! More importantly, with this, I’ve got far more ENERGY and I've added YEARS to my life!
How? Mindful eating!
More specifically…
I’ve been treating my daily caloric intake the same way I treat my financial budget!
Picture this: every morning, you receive a payment equivalent to your daily caloric expenditure - say roughly $2,000. BUT, this isn't for expenses or investments; it's your calorie budget FOR THE DAY!
Think of each food item as a “purchase.” A slice of pizza costs as many “dollars” as calories it contains. How would this perspective influence your eating habits?
This approach isn't about weight loss or appearance; it's about fostering a healthier lifestyle and sustaining high energy levels. It's making informed choices on what we “'buy” with our calorie budget.
ANNND…Here’s an interesting twist. WE CAN CHANGE HOW WE VIEW EXERCISE TOO! Think of it as earning more “money” through exercise! Every physical activity is an opportunity to boost your calorie “income,” allowing you to indulge a bit more while staying within a healthy range.
Consider nutrient-rich, lower-calorie foods as economical buys. They cost less of your daily budget, providing room for more variety and quantity while keeping you feeling satisfied.
By viewing caloric intake as a budget, we learn the value of what we consume. It's about mindful eating and getting the most “value'“ for our caloric “expenditure.”
It’s a simple mindset shift… and, if you’re looking to increase energy, add longevity, and just overall, feel better - I challenge you to adopt this mindset for a day or a week. Notice how your food choices may change when calories are seen as a currency for health.
Until next time, train hard, breathe easy!

10 个月Please don’t focus just on calories! We have been misled about calorie counting and the idea that a calorie is a calorie. A calorie is not a calorie. At least not in the gut. But I celebrate and laud your success. We all need to get our health in better order. The issue is just finding the right sources for that.
