How I Easily Ghosted My Anxiety
My heart was pounding, and I couldn’t catch my breath.
Anxiety gripped me like a vice, squeezing the air from my lungs.
I felt trapped, like the walls were closing in. Panic attacks had become a regular occurrence, and I was desperate for relief.
That’s when I decided to take action. Living in constant fear and worry tired me. It was time to break free from the shackles of my anxiety and reclaim my life.
I needed some powerful tools to “ghost” my anxiety for good!
But I knew it wasn’t gonna be easy.
What to do to reduce anxiety — step by step
Learning mindfulness
The first step was learning mindfulness practices for anxiety.
I started with simple intentional breathing exercises for anxiety management.
The 4–7–8 breathing routine — inhale for four counts, hold for seven, exhale for eight. Slowly, my racing thoughts began to calm, and I felt a sense of control returning. I now do that once or twice a day.
Then I added mindfulness to daily routines. I did mindful showering, eating, walking, and more.
Stop my mind wandering
Next, I dove into meditation — one of the most powerful natural remedies for anxiety relief — to stop my mind-wandering.
At first, it was hard to quiet my mind. But with practice, I learned to notice my thoughts without judgment.
First I meditated for five minutes once or twice a week. It really didn’t seem like much of anything at first.
But then I started to look forward to it — small doses of relief from my mind wandering.
Meditation then became a sanctuary, a place where I could escape from constant worry and fear. I now meditate for half an hour daily.
Mindset shift
As my anxiety ebbed, I discovered the power of a growth mindset.
I began thinking about my thinking.
Instead of seeing setbacks as failures, I embraced them as opportunities for growth.
I trained myself to master the Power of My Mind.
The way I view the world and everyone in it changed.
Ghosting my anxiety shifted to an “inside game.”
This shift in perspective was life-changing. It let me face challenges with resilience and courage.
Noticing nature
Nature walks became my daily ritual. Breathing in the fresh air — surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors — I felt a sense of peace wash over me.

Moving my body and connecting with nature was a simple act. It was one of the best ways for reducing my anxiety.
And it wasn’t only sunny days that I enjoyed my nature walks. I began to have new appreciation for the wind, clouds, rain and snow. I really look forward to walking after a light rain in the autumn.
All nature can be calming and refreshing.
The unexpected anxiety-buster
Yoga, too, played a crucial role in my journey.
I never thought yoga would be so impactful for me.
But the gentle stretches and poses taught me to be present in the moment. They grounded me in my body and quieted the constant chatter in my mind.
And more healthy intentional breathing!
With each deep breath, I feel the weight of my anxiety lifting.
As the weeks passed, my anxiety began to dissipate like a fog lifting.
I ghosted my anxiety and was starting to experience pockets of joy and fulfillment.
The techniques I had learned became ingrained habits, and I felt a newfound sense of freedom.
No longer am I prisoner to my fears and worries.
The journey wasn’t easy, but the rewards are immense.
I discovered ways to calm anxiety and stress. Then, I was living the life I had always dreamed of — one filled with joy, confidence, and peace.
