HOW I DISCOVERED MY PURPOSE

Throughout my spiritual journey, I came to understand that I am God's masterpiece, created to perform good works that He prepared for me in advance, as stated in Ephesians 2:10. Merriam-Webster defines a “masterpiece” as a work created with extraordinary skill—a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship. This definition made me realise that God took exceptional care and attention in creating me.

Psalm 139:13-14 reinforces the aforementioned discovery by detailing how God intricately formed the different parts of my body, which are interconnected and yet wonderfully complex. This complexity reminds me that only God truly understands how each part of my body is meant to function. This is why Jeremiah 1:5 states that God knew us before He formed us in our mothers' wombs. He set each of us apart and appointed us for a specific purpose even before our birth.

In essence, I considered my career as a public servant to be my purpose for existence, and I served with zeal and unprecedented dedication. Little did I know that when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, He would reveal a different plan—one that is the true purpose of my existence. My story is not unique as I often hear people confidently quote Jeremiah 29:11, believing they know what God has created them to do. However, they frequently overlook the conditions outlined in Jeremiah 29:12-13 that must be fulfilled for God to reveal these plans. Some individuals think that their current occupations or careers are what God intended for them to pursue on Earth.

Considering the above preamble, I give all honour, praise and glory to our Heavenly Father for entrusting me with a mandate to guide you in discovering what God has created you for, which is far greater than anything you could have ever envisioned, thought, or planned for yourself. I therefore invite you to join me on my true journey—one that aligns with what God has predestined for me, and which will touch the lives of those He has brought into my path.
