I came across that scary statement while reading an article on Psychology Today.

92% of people never reach their lifetime career goals. Just crazy!

A few years ago, as a young man in a little town in Cameroon, I set out to master the art of business startup, scaling & expansion, business strategy design & execution, personal branding, high-income positioning, among others.

I was very clear about what I wanted to be good at as a passionate speaker, trainer, consultant & facilitator.

Along the way, I discovered so many things, and among others, I learned that success isn't about waiting & hoping, it’s about actively positioning yourself for opportunities.

I learned & practiced a few strategies myself, which enabled me to travel to 18+ countries to speak, train & consult between 2016 and the present.

I set these goals early in my career when I realized that simply gaining experience, repeating what everyone else around me was doing, and hoping was a gamble.

At the time, I felt the uncertainty of being overlooked, I felt inadequate, and at the same time, the urgency to take control of my professional growth & breakthroughs.

Actions I took that helped me (let me share 3 for now):

??I built visibility in my industry through strategic networking, content creation, and thought leadership, and this opened doors for me in several areas, including a steady slot on a national TV program.

??I consistently trained, practiced & crafted ways to clearly communicate my value, ensuring that the right people & institutions knew what I brought to the table.

??I differentiated myself with a unique personal brand, making it easy for clients and partners to see why they should work with me.
