How I became a listener?

My MOM. She is my best mate and my world revolved around her.
I had always felt excited when I heard my school bell ringing. I remember rushing to my mom to share her the story of my entire day. We laughed together and cracked odd jokes. She is an excellent listener and had the capability to reciprocate my feelings.
I moved overseas in the later years and started missing my mom.
Think of a time when you are in a bad mood and nothing is resonating with you. Someone rings you up, talks for a while, appreciate you for your time and say that they feel relaxed and happy because of YOU.
Few of my friends, who rang me often, used to say that I had the ability to resonate with another person, to feel their emotions and understand their perspective.
‘So When you are listening to somebody completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it’-Jiddu Krishnamurthi
And, this is how a listener was born. Listening is loving. I love listening to others. It is a way of caring too. I wanted to honor those people whose stories aren’t usually heard and create a difference in people's lives.
Do you love to be heard?

5 年Being a good listener is a wonderful skill to have. Not being impatient to jump in with advice. Instead just letting friends offload. Great post.
