How I am enjoying my isolation here at home.....

Now that I have been housebound for 14 days, I have been finding a whole bunch of creative activities to keep my mind from going bonkers. Here a but a few:

  1. Every hour or so, I get up from my desk and stand with my arms outstretched. I then turn in slow circles for about 5-10 times or until I start feeling dizzy. I also do a little dance with an imaginary Irish Wolfhound (see picture) who is a head taller than me. Some of you may be familiar with the movie "Harvey" about a 6' tall rabbit...well my Irish Wolfhound is named "MacCrimmon" and can play bagpipes! BTW: That is NOT me in the picture!

2. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon, I step outside my home office and catch some fresh air. I avoid people but do enjoy a short walk where I can whistle a tune or even sing (G-d forbid). My favourite tunes are The Unchained Melody as well as Variations on a Theme by Paganini by Rachmaninoff.

3. Finally I create in my mind, "the perfect snack" which can be anything from Lobster with butter sauce to Ritz crackers and cheese. Rarely do I actually partake except in my imagination. By it seems so real than my mouth waters at the prospect. These things bring me joy.

If you have any cool idea which you would like to share with me, please do so. This "Mind Health Kit" can then be shared from which everyone can benefit.
