If anyone had told me i would be talking to strangers for 3 days straight on zoom, hacking solutions to education challenges during and post covid19, i would have probably said IMPOSSIBLE! I didn't foresee the toughness of the experience or the challenge with different time zones. However, I made up my mind to engage deliberately and create relationships that would last.
I had the most engaging and stimulating experience. I met people from different continents. My teammates, the best of all, were from India, Malaysia, U.S, Canada and Nigeria. I love you guys Vishal Naidu , Santha Nair , Chandler Holland, Rebecca Abanka and Clara Le. I am still trying to understand how it was easy to connect with our diverse backgrounds and orientation. You are amazing. I saw resilience, commitment, brilliance in all that you all did. I love the unique expertise each of you have and how you did not hesistate to display it and open up about your weakness.
I can boldly say that the hackathon delivered on all it promised given what my team was able to create. We created a solution to bridge the digital divide in education sector in Malaysia, with a plan to expand our impact to other low income countries. Special thanks to Alyssa Chassman, Rachel McCave for putting the hackathon together and our mentor Kaiser Tirmizi for being sincere, accurate and helpful.
