Putting BypassGPT to the Test

Of course, it’s easy to simply say that BypassGPT can humanize AI text effectively. But now we have to demonstrate how good this tool actually is and whether or not it really works by putting it to the test.

To begin, we asked ChatGPT to give us a simple piece of text about “school life.”

We then fed that text into some of the top AI detectors around, like Originality.ai, GPTZero, and Content at Scale.

As you might expect, all three of these top AI detectors spotted that the content was made by AI. Originality rated it as 0% Human, GPTZero only thought there was a 1% chance of human content, and Content at Scale also called the text as AI-made.

For step two, we took the original AI-made text and fed it into BypassGPT. Then, we let the AI humanizer work its humanization magic.

But could this new text really bypass detection? Let’s find out:

The results clearly show that BypassGPT is true to its word, successfully achieving a level of human-style writing with the help of its powerful humanization technology.

9 More Ways to Humanize AI Text

Using an AI to human text converter is one easy and efficient way to humanize AI text. But it’s not the only option. Here are nine more ways you can humanize AI text and bypass AI detection.

Rewrite Text Manually

Perhaps the most straightforward and obvious way to avoid any AI detection and ensure your work passes as human is to actually rewrite it yourself. In other words, you take your AI-generated text and use that as a kind of baseline or draft. You then go through it and change the words to keep the same meaning but delivered in a more natural way.

Here's an example of this method in action (I rewrote the original ChatGPT text one word at a time):

Now, let’s see how well this text works against AI detectors:

These results show that rewriting AI text can be a helpful way to humanize it. The results were all much more human when compared to the original, although some of the detectors still felt that there was a certain level of AI text involved.

Introduce Context to Your Content

In order to connect with your readers, it helps to introduce context into your work. AI tools are good for establishing the facts and data, but it often needs a human writer to introduce real-world examples and relevance to those facts, making the overall text feel less robotic.

Here’s an example of this method in action. I rewrote the second paragraph of the original AI text, introducing a personal anecdote to make the text more hum

n.

Let's see how well this impacts the AI scan results:

AI detectors still feel that the text is mostly AI-generated, but the inclusion of a human anecdote has made it more engaging overall and a little trickier for the AI scanners to figure out.

Respond to Reader Emotions

Another human quality that AI tools often lack is emotion. They generate raw, robotic content that sometimes feels a little lifeless, focusing too much on accuracy and informational data.?

So, one other way to convert AI to human text is by including more feeling in the text. Think about the emotions your readers might feel as they read about the topic at hand, and address those emotions with stories or ideas.

To demonstrate this, I went back to ChatGPT and asked it to put some more emotive language in the text.

Here's how the AI detectors felt about th

s:

The results show how a little emotion can go a long way when humanizing AI text. Originality.AI wasn’t fooled, ranking the text as 100% AI still.?

However, GPTZero and Content at Scale both changed their readings in major ways, with Content at Scale saying that the text “passed as human” overall.?

This shows how integrating emotional language and ideas can make AI text more readable and therefore more human.

Ask ChatGPT to Edit Your Content

ChatGPT isn’t just for creating content from scratch. It’s also able to edit, modify, and fine-tune content that has already been made – even content it wrote itself.?

So, another method you can try here is to ask ChatGPT to edit the text it previously wrote, making some careful and precise changes to make it sound less like AI. You need to use a good prompt for this, as you can see in our example below.

So, how well does this work against AI detection? Let’s see.

Overall, the results aren’t conclusive. Originality and Content at Scale still felt that the text was AI-made. However, GPTZero was less convinced and even gave the text a 75% human score, proving that this method can work on certain detectors.

Use Different Prompts

The prompt you give to ChatGPT (or other AI writers) has a huge impact on what kind of content it will make. You have to be precise, careful, and selective with the instructions you choose, rather than just using basic prompts like “Write about…” or “Give me 100 words on…”

For instance, in the example below, I adjusted my original prompt about “School Life,” asking ChatGPT to provide opinions on specific concepts and also writing from the perspective of a student.

Will this make ChatGPT undetectable? Let’s take a look at the scan results

and see:

Again, it’s a mixed bag here. Originality and Content at Scale both still had similar results, but GPTZero changed, dropping from 98% AI to 86%, which shows this method can work, if you can land on the right kind of prompt to get human-level content.

Get Rid of Certain Words

A lot of AI bots repeatedly use certain specific words. Getting rid of these words, which are often overused or cliché, can help to beat detection and humanize AI text.

This Reddit thread actually shows the most frequently used words from ChatGPT, encouraging users and writers to avoid using those words if they wish to remain undetected.

I used this thread to inform the next example, in which I asked ChatGPT to remove overused words and phrases from its output text and replace them with alternativ

Use Simple Language

Often, simplicity is the key to humanizing AI text and overcoming AI detection, as well as making your content more readable, relatable, and engaging to the widest possible audience. By removing complex jargon and unusual terms, you can ensure your text is easier to grasp for all.

With that in mind, I asked ChatGPT To write a piece of text that was simple, free of jargon, and using common words that anyone could understa

The AI detection results below show how well this content scored:

There's a very slight increase in the human-level score with GPTZero, but the other two tools showed no real change from this method.

Mix Up Your Sentence Structures

Using a mixture of sentence structure styles and lengths can also make your content feel more human. This is because human writers tend to naturally write sentences that vary in length and nature, while AI tools are more rigid in their writing.

Based on this principle, I asked ChatGPT to rewrite its text using a mixture of sentence structures.

Here’s how it scored in AI detection tests:

There’s definitely some improvement here. Originality again maintained that the text was almost definitely AI, but the other two tools had mixed results. GPTZero felt that over a third of the text was human, and Content at Scale couldn’t tell if it was human or AI?

Intentional Errors

AI tools like ChatGPT are trained to be accurate and precise with their content generation. They don’t get things wrong or make silly little typos and spelling mistakes that human writers – even the best, professional writers – sometimes make.?

So, one final method you can try to convert AI to human text is to introduce a couple of intentional spelling or grammar errors. On the downside, this can negatively affect your text’s readability, so we don’t recommend it.

Still, for the purposes of this guide, we had to give it a try and see how well it worked.

Here’s how the AI tools thought about our error-strewn reimagining of ChatGPT’s text:

As you can see, the inclusion of some intentional errors had a huge impact. Originality was fooled right away, believing that the text was almost entirely human. Content at Scale wasn’t sure, but GPTZero still felt that the text was AI-made, even with some typos mixed in.

How Does AI Detection Work?

AI detection tools work by scanning text and comparing what they see to large datasets of AI-generated text patterns and trends. In other words, they look at a piece of content and try to spot the signs that it was made by AI, like certain sentence structures, the repeated use of certain words, the way the paragraphs are measured and arranged, and so on.

Given that AI tools like ChatGPT are trained on real human text, they tend to create content that mimics the style they were trained to copy. Because of that, AI detectors sometimes get things wrong and flag a human-written piece of text as “AI” because it looks so much like the kind of thing an AI would create.

Reasons to Convert AI to Human Text

AI-generated content is quick to make and easy to work with, but it has some drawbacks. It often lacks the emotion and context that human writing tends to have, and can be therefore less engaging and enjoyable for the reader.?

As such, here are some reasons you might like to humanize your AI text before you publish or post it anywhere.

1. Maximize Your SEO Rankings

One of the most important reasons to humanize AI text is for SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. These days, search engines are becoming increasingly wary and strict regarding AI-generated content.

Google, especially, has announced that it has updated its algorithms to focus more on content that is the most helpful, original, and useful to the audience, which can lead to decreases in SEO results for sites that rely on AI content.

A test conducted by an SEO marketer proved this concept without any doubt, when it revealed that tens of thousands of AI-generated posts weren’t even indexed by Google and therefore got no organic search engine traffic.?

Certain SEO specialists also argue that even if AI content can pass Google’s algorithms, it may not be very effective at generating leads and attention for your site, due to its lack of human qualities and engagement.

2. Attract Readers with High Quality Content

AI is remarkable when it comes to generating large amounts of text much faster than any human writer ever could. But that doesn’t mean it always creates the best quality text.?

It can make mistakes, producing inaccuracies or misrepresentations of certain ideas. It also lacks emotion in its language, which can lead to content that feels boring or bland to read through.

Thus, humanizing AI text is often an imperative step if you want to forge a strong connection with your readers and attract them in huge numbers.?

People like content that feels engaging, entertaining, and exciting, but they’ll respond poorly to text that is impersonal or robotic.

3. Avoid Any Unwanted Risks

There are a lot of discussions at the moment about the use of AI and its impact on the world.

Indeed, many teachers and professors are now using AI detection tools to scan essays and papers in schools and colleges around the world, aiming to combat the rising tide of students using AI to write work for them.?

Those who are found to have submitted AI content can receive many punishments, from failing grades and zero scores to requiring students to rewrite their text entirely.

Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/comments/1737115/socalled_ai_detectors_are_a_huge_problem/?

However, it’s worth noting that sometimes, such punishments are dished out unfairly. AI detectors often get things wrong and produce “false positives” when they accuse someone of using AI when they actually wrote the text themselves. Originality.ai is just one detector shown to be inaccurate and unreliable in this respect, and many students have faced unfair penalties.

Therefore, even if you’re honest and do all your writing yourself, you could still end up punished or penalized if it doesn’t pass AI detection. Humanizing AI content is therefore more important than ever to avoid any unnecessary risks.

Summing Up

AI can’t be relied on entirely to create all content all of the time. Instead, it must be used carefully and in moderation, balanced out with human writers, in order to make the best use of both – the efficiency and speed of AI, combined with the emotion and uniqueness that only humans can provide. AI to human text converters and methods, like those seen above, are therefore beco
