How Howard Stern Handles His "Critics"

There will ALWAYS be someone out there criticizing what you do and how you do it.

The more successful you become, the more it happens.

Everyone has a strategy in how they handle their "critics"

I recently listen to a clip of Howard Stern and how he handled feedback from one of his listeners that wanted to offer up "constructive criticism."

Whether or not you like Howard Stern or not, you cannot deny that is an innovator in his space.

His salary is over $95 million dollars a year and he is right, he did not achieve the success that he has by listening to his critics.

He has stayed true to himself and his vision.

Last week, I posted an article "Would You Use This Agent to Sell Your Home?"

It was about how important it is to be congruent in your marketing and if your putting out that you area LEADER or the AUTHORITY your social media profiles and marketing materials like your website better reflect that.

Most folks resonated with the message but some did not.

A lady in Boston(who I never have met) accused me of belittling the agent and that I should have NEVER used the picture that I used in the story.

She then challenged my marketing expertise and offered up some marketing insights of her own.

I asked her why should I listen to her?

What were her notable business accomplishments?

When I went to her website, it was terrible.

Outdated, very unprofessional and there was nothing to indicate to me that she was the obvious #1 choice. (and yet she was positioning herself as a wealth expert.)

Your a wealth expert but your website looks like you had it made on Craigslist and you want to give me lessons on branding and marketing?

Really?

I have never actively engaged my critics but what is interesting is my clients usually do.

What you should do is get off your whining butt, and hire him, Now, Right Now, instead of acting like you know something, which you don't.

At best its incompetence for not doing due diligence, at worst just simple ignorance!

I don't care about critics, I care about RESULTS and making a dent in the Universe.

Be careful how you take advice from and do not ever let your critics censor you or silence your voice or your vision.

If you are going to make a dent in the universe, you are going to attract your fair share of critics.

How you choose to respond to them is one thing, allowing them to influence your voice is another.
