How Hot is Sarasota in the Summer?

People have this notion that summer in Florida is unbearable, which is most FALSE. The reason I say that is because everyone’s body is different. Each person has a different level of heat tolerance. Of course, if you are in the middle of Florida, hot summer days can be very hot. However, that is not what I am going to chat about with you. I want to talk with you about what summer is like in Sarasota, Florida.

If you ever have visited Sarasota, you know that we have both “In-season” and “Out-of-season” months. By far the summer months are when the least amount of people are here. There is a reason for it, and that would be the heat. So how hot does it really get in the summer?

Here is Sarasota, the summer weather is rather volatile. It can be sunny one minute and then the next there will be rain. However, this rain usually only lasts for 15 minutes to 1 hour. The honest temperatures in Sarasota are anywhere between 85-98 degrees. If there is not a breeze, these temperatures can be oppressive. However, we usually have a light wind for most days. Obviously, if your home is closer to the coast, you will get that Gulf breeze.

My question to you is, what is your heat tolerance? This is what I would consider when you are thinking of moving to Sarasota full time. You obviously can stay indoors in the air conditioning if you are not really a fan of the heat, but my best advice to you would be to get up early and be outside or even once the sun goes down around 7:30-8:00 pm spend time outside. You can still enjoy the amazing Florida weather without battling with the sun!

Just like you are maybe planning on moving to Sarasota, I did move myself from Wisconsin. I have had NO regrets making the move and living full time in Sarasota. There are so many things you can do in the summer to cool down, such as spend time at the beach!
