So you're about to host host a Memorial Day BBQ now what?!
First: Food. Most Importantly Food.
Food should fit your guest's needs and likes (not necessarily what you thought was crafty on pinterest)
*disclosure...we love Pinterest
Consider a potluck style where guests can bring something to share.
Consider allergies and dietary needs (be sure to ask your guests)
How much clean up do you want to do?
Consider how you will serve each of these dishes. Finger foods = easier clean up!
Drinks:
Avoid playing bartender and server and set up self serve stations
Have drinks made ahead of time in batches and in beverage dispensers before hand
Set out coolers one kid friendly and one for adults.
Decor: If you have kids, let them help make some flag decorations (okay...now pinterest)
You're hosting a bbq not a fancy-smancy dinner. Let the decor be functional before you worry if it's themed appropriately.
Do you have enough chairs, coolers, plates, utensils, shade...etc
After that feel free to go to town on all the red white and blue you can imagine.
HAVE FUN! TAKE A MOMENT TO REMEMBER WHY WE CELEBRATE MEMORIAL DAY
