How to hold on to the rope when you are at the end of it?

How to hold on to the rope when you are at the end of it?

When the first words out of your mouth in the morning is "HELP!", it may be a long day. You wake up and everything is falling on you at once. you just don't want to move or do anything. You just want to give up.

When was the last day you just felt like giving up?

When you are at your wits end, you can either give up our you can move forward. The difference between a great leader and a person that has given up is not the circumstance, it is the decision. Great leaders are not immune from the circumstances, they are choosing not to allow the circumstances to influence their decisions.

If I had a nickel for every moment I wanted to give up and quit... We all know the ending to that statement. Warren Buffet was asked how the recession affected his business. He said that his business was not affected by the recession. When he was asked why, he replied: " I choose not to participate." Simple to say, but not easy to believe. The belief you are not controlled by our circumstances is intrinsic. The belief is generated from you. Just like Warren Buffet, he did not accept the reality everyone accepted. He chooses to go a different path.

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

The question we need to ask is not what to do when we come to the end of the rope, it is how to tie the knot. When you focus your attention on the end of the rope, you see the disparity of the situation. When you focus your energy on one more option, you don't see the end of the rope, you always see another way. This is the key to significant thinking. Significant thinking is not focused your own demise, but centered on how your decisions will inspire others who believe they are at the end of their rope.

How do you tie the knot at the end of the rope?

1.  Focus on the solution, not the problem.

2.  Think about how your decision will inspire others, not how you are affected.

3.  Understand circumstances are stepping stones to your future, not stumbling blocks.

4.  Discipline your self-talk to inspire confidence, not create doubt.

5.  Listen twice as much as you speak.

6.  Accept responsibility for your actions, stop making excuses.

7.  Lead with your convictions, not wallowing in pity.

8.  Create an atmosphere of excellence, not settling for mediocrity.

9.  Serve others without expectation of return.

10.    Be Significant!

Are you at the end of your rope or are you tying a knot at the end of the rope?

Creating significance is a choice we make every day. When we start each new day, we make the choice. What is your choice today?

Zit zeker inspiratie in. Ik onderzoek graag waarom de situatie is gecre?erd. Dus niet leren touwklimmen maar de situatie te benutten voor bewustwording en groei. Dan verdwijnt het obstakel
