How To Hold People Accountable: A Coaching Conversation (8.9)

"There are no 'things to do'. The only thing that exist between human beings are promises."
Jonathan is busy, and on a tight schedule. He is relying on a colleague’s on-time delivery to stay on track. To his disappointment, come due date, He learns that, "Nothing is done." "Many steps," as he says, “didn’t happen.”
To deliver on time, Jonathan had to delay several of his projects to do his colleague’s job himself. He worked through weekends and late nights, and compromised on the quality of the design. He would like to learn how to avoid this from happening again in the future. His question is: "How do you deal with a person that doesn’t deliver?"
In this coaching session we discuss how to confront those who don’t honor their commitments, hold people accountable and challenge them to act with integrity.
Thanks to LinkedIn Learning for their gracious permission to use this coaching session they filmed for my program on commitments, which you can find here.
