How to hit a home run
I write weekly about the strategies, habits, and tactics around cultivating the connections that matter to you. BTW - have you signed up for my new course? It’s free for you.
“How to hit home runs: I swing as hard as I can, and I try to swing right through the ball... The harder you grip the bat, the more you can swing it through the ball, and the farther the ball will go. I swing big, with everything I've got.” - Babe Ruth
All too often when you’re reaching out to someone, we’re so obsessed with what might happen after the message is sent.
I constantly witness people frozen in the fear of reaching out. What if I’m too salesy? I hear that one at least three times a week. What if they don’t respond? What if, what if, what if. I do the same. Better not talk to them at all than face what might happen if.
Great advice. In the past month, my colleagues have seen me switch from "let's schedule a time to call them" to "let's call them right now." I catch myself off guard even--but it gets done. No more wasted mental bandwith.
