Take time to reflect on life

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog Narrative co-founded by Kishore Shintre to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
Let us start with what do you mean by life and are are you sure to reflect upon your life for the past one year or which part of your life? Does it start with your family background, economic condition, education, relationships, career, health, lifestyle, achievements and overall view of the world you have seen. Therefore surely there are so many thoughts accumulated which can give you enough material to reflect upon throughout.
Because we have to be specific in our reflections. What are we looking for in our mental archives? If nostalgia is what we seek, surely it’s fine to let our minds wander into our endless past.Which part of your life? There is family, education, relationship, religion, career, health, lifestyle, achievements, and worldview. Surely, you have various thoughts about these topics throughout the years of your life. Are you sure you have the mental bandwidth to comb through them all?
Which part of your life? There is family, education, relationship, religion, career, health, lifestyle, achievements, and worldview. Surely, you have various thoughts about these topics throughout the years of your life. Are you sure you have the mental bandwidth to comb through them all? Because we have to be specific in our reflections. What are we looking for in our mental archives? If nostalgia is what we seek, surely it’s fine to let our minds wander into our endless past. If your goal is to learn from your past. You have to be specific.
Always first pick a topic to reflect on. Recall the years in which your behavior and thoughts grow, develop or change throughout those years. Ask yourself why did those changes happen. Then try to find similar patterns despite the changes and also try to find clear differences in these changes. Once you have gone through the steps above. I’m pretty sure you’ll have some gold nugget from your past for the present.
Now, when is the best time to reflect on your life? For me, I do it as often as I visit the dentist. Reflection is hygienic. So twice a year minimum is ideal. You should journal and prioritize your expectations for the day and what you need to accomplish that fits within the 20/80 rule. 20% effort and 80% success. This should be the focus of your day.
If you improve anything in your day write about it and access what you did. What you expected to happen. And how it worked out for you. You can do this with your entire life and when you finally notice that many things aren’t worth holding on to then let them go and declutter your life and your memories. Now add in more things you want to remember and do that adds to the quality of your life in the way you want to build your life and your self.
If you are living a disciplined life daily and following a specific time schedule for doing your routine jobs yourself right form morning till night then the rest of the time I will eat, sleep, drink go for walk, do yoga, meditation and work at the office after which at the end of the day, I write a one to two articles or even more depending upon my mood and it keeps me highly inspired through the night because the break from the day gives me more subjects to reflect upon and again take up writing in the morning with fresh mind.
Then at the end of the month, I review my office work needs and decide my schedule for the next month. I want to actively change what I do if I am not happy about progress on a particular project or don’t think I am spending enough time with friends or if the weight on the scale is going up then loose more calories by long walks and jogs. Rest of the time is good for reflecting upon the happenings and then it is much easier to think about what is going well and what needs more improvements or preparation.
