How to hire a DJ for your next event

The right DJ plays a huge part in making your wedding, corporate gathering, or party a success. Professional DJs bring the equipment, handle sound set up, know how to read a crowd, and can even act as an emcee.

Here’s what to consider when picking a DJ for your next event.

Do your homework?Request a list of references from your potential DJs. Ask the references about their experience and if the event went as planned. Ask about music selection and song requests. Make sure you are on the same page as your DJ when it comes to musical taste. Also, work out whether your DJ should take requests – and if you should approve any requests – during the event.

Include all details in the contract:?Be sure to get all the finalized details in a written contract including: the final price, payment schedule, and all services that are included in the package. Should anything happen, and you don’t need the DJ anymore, find out the details of their refund policy.
