Evergreen’s operating income has hit a record high in the past two months: in July it was 45.88 billion Taiwan dollars (NTD), equivalent to 1.65 billion U.S. dollars, and last month it was 50.02 billion Taiwan dollars (1.8 billion U.S. dollars). Evergreen's revenue in the first two months of the third quarter was almost as much as the entire second quarter.

Stifel analyst Ben Nolan said, “Container mania should abate, although we don’t expect it to appear until later next year or even 2023.”

We believe that earnings will peak in 2022, not this year. The forecasts for 2022 and 2023 (for ocean carriers) have major positive surprises. "We are now not only seeing container demand stronger for a longer period of time, but supply chain issues and port congestion are worsening rather than improving. ," Chu said. "In view of the continuation of COVID-19 and the current situation of a large number of port congestion, we believe that these problems will not be resolved soon.
