HOW TO HELP YOUR KID OVERCOME A BAD HANDWRITING.
As a teacher who has spent a lot of time with different students from diverse backgrounds, it is not uncommon for me to see learners with bad handwriting. Sometimes, I get eye strain trying to decipher what they have written. Trust me, on those days, I have to use my eyeglasses.
I want to share a personal strategy I have used to help a student overcome her bad handwriting. Another is still a work in progress.
One thing I noticed when I became interested in helping this particular student was this: she made her letters overlap each other. By the end of the day, her handwriting came out poorly.
I pointed it to her and encouraged her to write her letters singly and her handwriting would improve if she follows my advice. I'm glad she did because the next time I was marking her note, her handwriting had greatly improved.
There are many reasons students' handwriting turn out poorly. Some write fast to catch up with their classmates, some write absentmindedly because they feel it's a lot of work copying notes while some didn't get proper handwriting practice while they were younger.
A parent once complained to me that her kid's handwriting was going bad because she had to write fast in class. A look at the note confirmed this. To avoid this, parents can ask for soft copies of their kids' notes so that the kids can finish up the notes at home instead of rushing to complete the note in class and end up turning in a badly written note.

One more thing I want to add is this: students should be taught how to spare their words properly and bring their letters together. This is one of the reasons students' handwriting turn out bad.
This will be all for today.
