How to Heal the Hole in Your Self-Awareness

I had a macular tear/hole in my left eye. At this point it has been repaired and I am patiently awaiting full sight out of that eye. I initially realized something was wrong when a black “hole” appeared in my vision – a hole through which I could not see. This situation was (and is) irksome, but not deadly and I look forward to having my full sight returned soon. In the meantime, this situation has me wondering about the things that I, metaphorically, cannot see. I suspect that I do not always consider (or am even aware of) some of my more petty, mean, or thoughtless behaviors and shortcomings. I’m afraid that this is a piece of reflection that I do not always consider, especially when emotions are high. What is this hole keeping from me?
